Nomenclatural details

Phaulothrips vuilleti Hood, 1918: 147.

Titanothrips portentosus Karny, 1920: 40. Synonymised by Mound, 1974: 86.

Biology and Distribution

Described from Nelson (P. vuilleti) and Cedar Creek (T. portentosus), Queensland, Australia. Also collected from New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory on Acacia buxifolia and Northern Territory. Recorded from Tanzania by Mound & Palmer, 1983: 27.
