Nomenclatural details

Haplothrips (Trybomiella) clarisetis Priesner, 1930: 237.

Haplothrips dolichothripoides Bagnall, 1933: 315.

Haplothrips infernalis Priesner, 1965: 454.

Biology and Distribution

Described from Egypt & South Africa on Gynandropsis pentaphylla, Beta cicla and Chenopodium sp. Also taken on Kochia muricata, Vitex agnus-castus and Cruciferae sp. Found in the desert on Anabanis setifera, Aerva tomentosa, Artemisia herba-alba and Juncus acutus (H. clarisetis). Described from Sudan on cotton seedlings (H. dolichotripoides).
