Nomenclatural details

Ophthalmothrips hemipteroides Priesner, 1921: 215.

Macrophthalmothrips narcissus Hood, 1934: 76.

Macrophthalmothrips exilicornis Hood, 1942: 600.

Biology and Distribution

Described from Paraguay (O. hemipteroides), Panama (M. narcissus) and Trinidad (M. excilicornis). Also collected from Belize, Guyana, Surinam, Brazil, Colombia and Costa Rica (Mound & Marullo 1996).
