Allothrips brasilianus Hood, 1955: 101. Allothrips japonicus Okajima, 1987: 146. Synonymised by Okajima, 2006.

Described from Brazil, this species is also known from Hawaii, Japan and Taiwan (Mound & Marullo, 1996: 211).
