Subfamily information

Adults of species in this subfamily have an exceptionally elongate, lyre-shaped, metathoracic furca, and the lateral margins of the metathorax are commonly swollen. The body surface usually bears complex sculpture, with various markings inside the reticulations. Larvae usually have the dorsal setae rather elongate with capitate apices, and these larvae usually live on leaves not in flowers.
