Subfamily information

Considered by Bhatti (2006) as a separate family with 13 genera, this group is treated here as a subfamily of Thripidae to include only three genera (Wang, 2007; Mound & Tree, 2009). A further 12 genus group names are listed in synonymy under the three generic names. The subfamily is found worldwide, usually in association with flowers but with some species breeding on leaves.
