Panchaetothripinae
Subfamily information
Panchaetothripinae Bagnall (1912: 258) is interpreted here in the traditional sense of Heliothripinae Karny (1921: 215). In contrast, Bhatti (2006) erected four separate families for the genera Retithrips, Rhipiphorothrips, Caliothrips, and Panchaetothrips, placed Parthenothrips, Arachisothrips and Archaeothrips in a fifth family, and placed the remaining genera in a sixth family, the Heliothripidae.
