Panchaetothripinae

Subfamily information

Panchaetothripinae Bagnall (1912: 258) is interpreted here in the traditional sense of Heliothripinae Karny (1921: 215). In contrast, Bhatti (2006) erected four separate families for the genera Retithrips, Rhipiphorothrips, Caliothrips, and Panchaetothrips. Moreover, he placed Parthenothrips, Arachisothrips and Archaeothrips in the Parthenothripidae, and the remaining Panchaetothripine genera in the Heliothripidae.
